Ken Ryder

With great sadness and deep respect, we honor the passing of former Fire Commissioner Kenneth Ryder. Commissioner Ryder passed away on January 23, 2025. He dedicated over 50 years of his life to serving his community as a member of the Felton Community Fire Company. His unwavering commitment to protecting the residents of his town and supporting the fire service has left an enduring legacy in Delaware.

Commissioner Ryder was a remarkable leader, known for his dedication, hands-on approach, and tireless efforts. He earned the trust and respect of countless firefighters through his actions and leadership. Under his guidance, the fire service achieved significant advancements in fire safety, all while fostering a strong sense of camaraderie among firefighters. His impact will continue to be felt through the values he upheld: courage, dedication, and selfless service.

Commissioner Ryder was not only a leader but also a mentor and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and the members of the Felton Community Fire Company during this difficult time.
